Today is Monday. A rainy Monday. But a warm, rainy Monday. That’s the kinda rainy Monday I can handle. This last week of work was kind of a doozy for me. I put in about 50 hours but there was no consistency to those hours. One day I went in at 5pm & got done at 3am. A couple of days I worked 8-6. You get the idea. A week like that can leave a girl sorta drained. Temps really warmed up over the weekend here & this morning brought about a nice, warm rain storm. Add that to my whirlwind week and I could hardly get out of bed this morning. I slept as late as possible, showered, and zombie-stubmled my way to work. An iced coffee later, I was feeling a bit more myself & got quite a bit accomplished at work. While I can’t say the same about my accomplishments at home, I did manage to wash all of our bed linens (yay for clean sheet day!), take Fielder for a couple of walks, & try out some Pancake Battered Apple Rings that I’ll blog about later. I spent most of the evening catching up on my Google Reader & came across this A-Z survey multiple times. Eh, why not? Seems fitting for a Monday:
A is for age: 28. Ish. I hate even numbers. I plan to celebrate 29 for the rest of my birthdays.
B is for breakfast today: Luna LemonZest Bar. This is by far my favorite Luna bar, soooo good!
C is for currently craving: Girl Scout Thin Mints
D is for dinner tonight: Pancake Battered Apple Rings
E is for favorite type of exercise: Walking with Fielder!
F is for an irrational fear: I have a few. The one that I think of every day though? Leaving the flat iron on/candle burning/dryer running that results in a fire, possibly hurting (or worse) my Fielder love. Actually, my worrying about him in general is quite irrational. I’m doomed when I have children.
G is for gross food: Stinky, disgusting bleu cheese.
H is for hometown: Beautiful, Spring Green, WI
I is for something important: Family. The most important.
J is for current favorite jam: I’m still obsessed with “Lost In My Mind” by The Head and The Heart
K is for kids: Right now just my dogchild, Fielder. But I can’t wait to have dozens of real life babies. Okay, probably only 2 or 3. Or 4… Hubby says 2. What a party pooper!
L is for current location: Butt on couch, feet on ottoman. Ahhhh…
M is for the most recent way you spent money: Last night at the grocery store. We had food here but with the nice weather we really just wanted cheeseburgers on the grill.
N is for something you need: I seriously need to start over with my wardrobe. It’s a mish-mash of stuff I’ve had for years, stuff that no longer fits, & stuff that simply isn’t in style. I wish I could just wear a dress every day. I would LOVE to replace everything in my closet with a cute dress.
O is for occupation: Server/Supervisor at a local brewpub. Though in my dreams I’m a bakery owner. Anyone have some spare cash they’d like to float me? 😉
P is for pet peeve: The top of my list has always been & always will be spelling/grammar errors. I’m sure I mess up my spelling or speech from time to time but I make a HUGE effort to ensure that anything I type/write/say is always dictated correctly.
Q is for a quote: “Life is too short to be anything but happy.”
R is for random fact about you: I’m an only child.
S is for favorite healthy snack: Apple & peanut butter, celery & peanut butter, carrots & hummus, string cheese. I actually love healthy snacks, I’m just no good at keeping my refrigerator stocked.
T is for favorite treat: I can’t even attempt to pick one thing. Oreos, Starbucks fully loaded espresso drinks, cupcakes (though I really love baking them more than actually eating them), french fries, guacamole…
U is for something that makes you unique: Oh geeze, I don’t know. Unique or weird? Because I have a lot of weird quirks. For example, I don’t like even numbers. Except 4. And I don’t like 3 or 5. I set my alarm/radio volume/thermostat for any number ending in 1, 7 or 9. For real. I got married on 7.9.11, not by accident.
V is for favorite vegetable: Spinach? I guess that’s the one I use the most at least. But there aren’t many that I don’t like.
W is for today’s workout: Two walks with Fielder, the last of which was mostly jogging.
X is for X-rays you’ve had: Teeth & back. Maybe some others I don’t recall at the moment.
Y is for yesterday’s highlight: The extra hour of daylight that allowed us to cook out when I got home from work!
Z is for your time zone: Central Standard Time. And while I basically DVR everything, I couldn’t agree more with Clean Eating Chelsey about TV shows being on at the perfect time in this neck of the woods.
Hope you all survived your Monday and have a fantastic rest of the week! 🙂
