I decided to clean out the fridge today. That meant disposing of the remaining little bits of lettuce from no less than 5 bags of baby spinach & mixed greens (I guess I always forget to throw away the old bags when I move onto the new) & a big bunch of cilantro that I never got around to using. I did this disposing in our garbage disposal. All was fine and dandy until I got to the cilantro. For some reason, the garbage disposal did not like the cilantro.

And now for a close up. Warning: don’t look if you have a weak stomach. Yeah, this is what I’m
wishing the plumbing fairy would magically arrive & deal dealing with.
So what I’m doing right now, is procrastinating. Hubby is at work. I sent him an SOS message that the sink is clogged but haven’t heard from him. There is nothing he can do & I know he will tell me to fix it myself. This is not the first time I’ve clogged the kitchen sink from overloading the garbage disposal. But I just. don’t. want. to. It’s soooo gross & I just don’t feel like dealing with it. So for now, let’s talk about food that isn’t clogging my kitchen sink.
Did you know yesterday was National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day? I read this on one of the blogs I follow (can’t remember which one, there are so many!) and decided I would share my appreciation for PB&J on it’s special day. So for dinner I had a PB&J&B&G. Peanut Butter & Jelly & Banana & Granola!! I spread my PB&J on top of a toasted Arnold Multi-Grain Sandwich Thin. I then sprinkled on a little Bear Naked Fruit & Nut Granola and topped it off with banana slices. A little side of leftover sweet potato wedges from Sunday night and I was good to go.
Yes, I ate dinner on the couch in front of the tv AND computer. Don’t judge.
I got into a major Draw Something & Words With Friends tournament with a friend of mine while I got all caught up on the last 5 episodes of Smash (LOVE that show!), which meant I didn’t get to bed until after 1:00. I think I dozed off around 2am & slept like a baby until almost 10am!! It was wonderful! I don’t remember waking up even one time. I had soooo many dreams & I woke up feeling SO rested. Of course since it was 10am I also felt like half of my day was gone but I honestly didn’t have much I wanted to do. I do have some spring cleaning to do in our office but I’m trying not to stress about it & really have no deadline for getting it done.
It was a sunshiny morning so Fielder & I headed to the grocery store for a few things I forgot to pick up on Sunday & then had
breakfast brunch on the front step in the sunshine. I mixed myself up a green monster smoothie. In the mix today was:
-1 banana, sliced & frozen
-1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
-1 Chobani Champions Very Berry (yeah, it’s kids yogurt…so what?)
-1 large handful baby spinach
Holy crap, have you seen this blender cleaning tip?! Why didn’t I think of that?!
I also had a little cup of Multi-Grain Peanut Butter Cheerios.
Fielder likes Cheerios too.
I have lunch/dinner in the slow cooker & it’s smelling divine. I guess I’d better get to that sink so I can actually rinse off my dishes…
Are you or your significant other handy around the house?
I’m so fortunate that my husband can do just about anything. From fixing our cars to dealing with plumbing issues to building/remodeling anything in our home, we seldom have to call anyone to help us out because he can do it all. But when he’s not around, I’m kinda helpless. I swear I used to be good at things but he’s just so much better! I know I can fix this sink issue but boy do I wish he could come home from work and do it for me.
