A Perfect Fall Day

Actually, let’s make that a perfect fall weekend.
Even with work thrown right in the middle of it, I simply cannot complain about the fantastic fall weekend I just had.
I set out Friday morning towards my award winning hometown (that will never get old, btw).

I had a meeting with a man about my retirement plan *so grown up, right?!*, then mom and I set out for the apple orchard.

Apple Cider Slushie? Yes, please!

Oakwood Fruit Farm lost their retail space to a fire a few years ago so this was my first time visiting the new building. I’ve been going to this place since I was a child so I was happy to see that they built it almost exactly the same as the old building.

I’m certain I saw these mums smile under the warmth of the sun.

I’m not sure how long this has been a thing, but apparently you can also pick your own grapes at Oakwood. Super cool!

Peck’s Farm Market just happened to be on the route home so we stopped in to browse.

And of course we had to hit up the petting zoo.

Friday night we went to my godson’s high school football game. They lost big time so it didn’t seem appropriate to snap any photos, but it was sooooo fall.

Saturday morning the boys got started on building a fence in my parents’ backyard.

Because doesn’t this look like the kind of dog that needs a fence to keep him contained??

I spent a large portion of my day on this patio. It was rough.
Just because I’m embracing fall doesn’t mean I’m not soaking up every last minute of all of this gorgeous summer-esque sun.

A storm blew in eventually, but that was also quite enjoyable.

I had to drive back to work the closing shift Saturday night, but then I just drove myself back to SG at 4am when I got done. No big whoop. I got a few hours of sleep and then got to baking while the fence project continued outside.

Oh, I definitely had a beer too!

We had dinner with my parents before heading home and I’m not one bit ashamed to admit that we went immediately to bed. My boys have been sleeping since just after 8:00.

Fabulous fall weekends are exhausting!

How was your weekend?!
