Here we are, just a few days before Christmas. I have plenty to do, but little ambition to do it, and I thought I might further procrastinate by finally editing and publishing this post from way back at the beginning of the month.
six | My sweet, early riser.
seven | We’re moving slow this morning. Theo woke up about an hour after his brother, and I was trying to get some cleaning done when he demanded, “MOM! Sit down chair!” And who am I to say no?!
eight | Independent play has become a thing around here lately, and while it initially scares the crap out of me when I realize there is silence and/or a child is “missing”, finding this is actually pretty sweet.
nine | I decided to embrace the mess and plunk my butt back on the couch for some work and blogging. No point in cleaning while the kids are awake, right??
ten | snack time! And it just wouldn’t be right if there wasn’t a spoon already in the peanut jar when I opened it.
eleven | had to pick up some dry cleaning and go to the bank. Drive thrus are amazing for many reasons but mostly because I can look like this and nobody knows!
twelve | The boys went down for a nap and I snuggled up for a 20 minute snooze myself. My cuddle partner shown here had me up for 2+ hours in the middle of the night before so it was earned.
one |Wrapping up a few presents with the best wrapping paper EVER. From Target, of course.
two | Boys are awake, snack time again! They love these little snack boards I throw together. Cheese, crackers, pretzels, grapes, strawberries. Whatever we hand on hand, they love to grab a piece here & there while running around.
three | oops, I missed an hour
four | thanks to the magic of dry shampoo, I was able to get in that nap earlier AND rock my day 3 hair in public that night.
Note: Dove is not my favorite dry shampoo but it is cheap enough to always have on hand, and it works in a pinch!
five | I love that we live in the city, but it takes less than 5 minutes to get to open fields and wide open spaces where the moon shines especially bright. Sorry for the blur, we were driving.
six | Christmas light parade!
seven |parades = candy
eight | we had dinner after the parade and we’re entertained by Christmas carolers! While still eating candy, of course.
nine | The boys ran off all of that sugar lapping around my parents’ living room and admiring my mom’s beautiful tree.
And you can guarantee, even though it was Friday night, I was in bed before 10pm
